What is a oil separator
The Oil separator is a part of vapour compression refrigeration system or mechanical compression refrigeration system.The oil separator to separate oil from the compressed vapour refrigerant or gas and return back it to the crank case of the compressor is called a oil separator.
Construction of the oil separator
It construction of the oil separator like a cylindrical shell and suitable inlet and outlet are provided. The return back pipe of the bottom are provide to return the oil in crank case of the compressor and the controlled by a float valve.the shell is made of stainless steel or steel.

The working principle, of The oil separator the compressor to compressed vapour refrigerant at higher pressure and higher temperature with small quantity of oil in the Entering to the inlet of the oil separator, The refrigerant vapour being lighter flows from the outlet of the oil separator to the condenser and The oil being heavier to downward due to gravity an oil level in the bottom. The float valve is provided the bottom to certain oil level is reached in the oil separator, a float open a needle valve and allows the oil return into the crank case of compressor.
Fitted or installed of the oil separator
It is installed or fitted in the between compressor and condenser. The compressor outlet pipe are connected to the oil separator inlet pipe and the oil separator outlet pipe are connected to the condenser inlet pipe of the vapour compression refrigeration system or mechanical compression refrigeration system.
