What is difference between Dry expansion type evaporator and flooded expansion type evaporator

Difference between Dry expansion type evaporator and flooded expansion type evaporator is a Dry expansion type evaporator is remains in contact with refrigerant vapours only. The flooded expansion type evaporator is always remains flooded with liquid refrigerant.

Dry expansion type evaporator

Figure show - Dry expansion type evaporator

The dry expansion type evaporator is air cooled type of evaporator. The evaporator both natural convection ( use natural air ) and forced convection ( use fan or blower).

Dry Expansion type evaporator which may be either of frosting, the defrosting and the non frosting type of the Evaporator.

It construction, the interior of tubing of the cooling coil made of copper is operated in such a manner that much of it remains in contact with the refrigerant vapours only.

Which type of the expansion valve used in Dry Expansion type evaporator

The flows of liquid refrigerant in this system is controlled by expansion valve. For example, capillary tube and Thermostatic expansion valve, automatic expansion valve.

Flooded expansion type evaporator

Figure show - Flooded expansion type evaporator

The flooded expansion type evaporator is a air cooled type of the evaporator.

flooded type which may be either of frosting, the defrosting and the non frosting type of the Evaporator.

The flooded type of cooling coil is that which always remains flooded with liquid refrigerant and the amount of liquid refrigerant supplied to the evaporator is controlled by Expansion valve.

Which type of expansion valve used in flooded expansion type evaporator

The expansion valve Like low side float valve and high side float valve.
